How to export a GPX from Garmin Connect
Garmin Connect exports any recorded activity as a GPX file from the website in a few clicks — no cables, no Garmin Express needed.
Your activity→⚙→Export to GPX
On the website
- Open connect.garmin.com and sign in.
- Go to Activities → All Activities and open the run or ride you want.
- Click the gear icon (⚙) top-right of the activity page.
- Choose “Export to GPX”. The .gpx file downloads immediately.
On your phone
- The Garmin Connect phone app has no GPX export — use connect.garmin.com in a browser (phone browsers work with “request desktop site”).
- Open the activity, gear icon, “Export to GPX” — same as on desktop.
Good to know
GPX or TCX?
Pick GPX. TCX carries extra sensor data but GPX is the standard for route shape + time, and it's what the poster needs.
The activity synced from my watch — is that a problem?
No. Anything visible in Garmin Connect exports fine, whichever watch recorded it.
