Terms

The short version: your route stays yours, the price you see is the price you pay including tax and delivery, posters are made to order, the file is yours to print for yourself, and if anything arrives wrong we reprint or refund it. The rest is detail.

These terms apply to every order placed on lope.studio. They are written for consumers. If you are buying as a business, the consumer protections below still describe what we do — you simply are not entitled to them by law.

How an order happens

Everything on the site is an invitation to order, not a binding offer. Your order is the offer; the contract exists when we send the confirmation email. That email is your record of what you bought, and it repeats the terms that matter — keep it.

If we cannot fulfil an order — a file we cannot print, a country we cannot ship to, an obvious pricing error — we tell you and refund you in full. We do not quietly substitute a different product.

Spotted a typo after ordering? Email us. We can change anything up until the lab starts printing, which is usually several hours and often longer.

Prices, tax and delivery costs

Prices are in euros and include VAT at the applicable rate. Standard tracked delivery is included in the price on every physical order — there is no shipping line added at checkout, and no minimum order to earn it.

For deliveries outside the EU, import duty and local tax are on us. Most orders are printed in your own region and never pass through customs; if yours does and the courier charges you anything, we refund the full amount — send us the customs invoice and we settle it, no questions.

We do not run sales, countdowns or fake discounts, and we do not change the price based on who is looking — the reasoning is on the discount codes page. Payment is taken at checkout through Stripe, which supports iDEAL, the major cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Delivery

Digital files are delivered immediately by email. Physical orders are printed at the production lab nearest you and shipped tracked, typically arriving 4–8 days after you order. Those are estimates, not guarantees. If an order is going to be materially late, we email you.

Risk passes to you when the parcel is delivered to you, not when it leaves the lab. A poster damaged in transit is our problem, not yours. Full detail on the shipping page.

Your route stays yours

You keep every right in the GPS data you upload. You grant us only the narrow licence we need to do the job: to render it, print it, deliver it, and — if you choose to share your design — to display it on your own share page. That licence ends when we delete the data.

Two things you promise us in return: that the file is yours to upload, and that any text you put on the poster is yours to use. Someone else's route, exported by them and given to you for a gift, is fine — that is most of our gift orders.

If you tick the optional box asking whether we may show your poster on our own channels, that permission is separate, specific and revocable — email us and we take it down. We never assume it from silence.

What you may do with your poster

The artwork we make combines your route with our design work: our layouts, our palettes, our typography, and cartography we render ourselves from OpenStreetMap data.

Your digital file is licensed for personal use. Print it as often as you like, at any lab, in any size, and hang it wherever you want — including as a gift.

What it does not cover: reselling the file or prints made from it, using it in a commercial product, or passing it around as a template. If you want a poster for a club, a race, a gym or a shop wall, email us — that is a conversation we are happy to have, not a rule we are trying to catch you on.

Our map styles are a Produced Work under the Open Database License. The full attribution travels with every poster: in the site footer, with each download, and on the credit that ships with each print. It is deliberately kept off the face of the art.

What we will not print

Very little, but it is worth being clear: nothing unlawful, nothing hateful, nothing that infringes someone else's trademark or copyright, and no personal text about someone who has not agreed to it. We may decline an order on those grounds and refund it in full. We do not read your routes looking for reasons to.

Returns, refunds and the guarantee

Posters are made individually to your specification, which under EU distance-selling rules means the standard 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to them — and the digital file is delivered immediately, which is why checkout asks you to confirm that separately.

That is the legal floor, and we go past it: every order carries a reprint-or-refund guarantee on defects, and a poster you are genuinely unhappy with is sorted out case by case. The whole picture, including how to claim, is on the returns page.

Separately from any of that, you keep your statutory rights: goods must match their description and be of satisfactory quality. Nothing here reduces that.

When something goes wrong

If we get your order wrong, we fix it — reprint, replace or refund. What we cannot take on is unlimited liability for indirect consequences: a poster that arrives after a birthday is a poster we will refund, not a birthday we can compensate you for. Our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Law and disputes

Dutch law governs these terms, and the Dutch courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of your own country and may bring a claim there — choosing Dutch law does not take that away.

Before any of that, please email hello@lope.studio. Almost everything is a reprint and an apology. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

Anything here unclear? Email hello@lope.studio and a human will answer.
